40 or less than.

I am not thrilled with dating sites but I like to dabble with a few just to keep my name out there, every now and again I will meet someone and it will be a temporary friendship or an ongoing one. It's how I met my ex, my fwb and currently James, plus a few others that eventually drifted away.  One of my disaster dating sites presented me with a "wink" the other day. The man is 55 and his profile lists him as interested in guys forty or younger. Well good for you buddy, maybe you can take them for ice cream after.

First at 55, grow a pair, don't send me a "wink" at least say hello, not hey or s'up or dick pics? If we are judging people then to be honest his photo looks a little unsettling, very angry or artsy screaming in a bizarre way and I have to admit.. no exaggeration, he reminds me of a llama, I know people will give me a hard time over that statement but I swear I'm not saying it to be mean. I guess I should feel honored that he went out of his usual comfort zone to wink at an old guy (who's younger than him).

I didn't respond, I just deleted his wink, kind of non appreciative of all the effort he put into our meeting. I also felt he is one of those men that just casts a net to see if he catches anything. Usually I will respond no matter what but I must come clean, this gayboy was turned off with the age limits (plus the llama face) and so did that gay flourish thingy with my finger as I deleted his ass while saying, "oh no you didn't"!

Ohhh dating sites. Just like hookup sites, they are ANNOYING.
First, if you are going to start a convo, just say hello, how are you. Then if he other dude is not interested, you block that dick. Simple. But a wink? Really. Like you’re thirteen?
I hope I never have to be in one of those sites. Ever. Again.
I think men can (and some should) be interested in men younger than themselves. It’s not a crime. But (and this is a big but) they will have then to be competitive, as in well dressed and look nice. I just can’t with a schloppy guy in sweats and a dirty T-shirt with a two day stubble and a beer in his hand demanding that men has his age pay him attention. Hell no.

XoXo

Funny, I just had lunch today with a 'trick' my closest friend picked up on Silver Daddies last year while in Brazil heading to North Carolina. He is a very nice attractive man. So I guess Steven, keep looking. Or is it swipe to the right?

I know nothing about these kind of sites and don't intend to. I have no problem with a guy looking like a llama, I am, after all, married to a ninja turtle. However, if that man's personality is that of a scummy, algae infested swamp all bets are off! Douchenozzles gotta douche.

I'm glad i got out of dating before dating apps as I wouldn't know what to do with an electronic 'wink.'
Like you said,say 'Hello'.
But, as for you, keep trying ... he's out there..

I've had it with guys around my age who only want a guy under 40. It's especially irksome when they are out of shape and are looking for fit younger guys. I'll take a wink or a hello.

Aging people are funny - it's not just men. This is coming from an aging man. It's a mindset. I know people who hit a certain age and start shutting down. That shit ain't for me. There are 2 times in your life when you can do what you want: as a child with parents to take care of you, and when you're retired (though I'm still working full time). In your older years you should be smart enough not to do something stupid and still have a blast.

Bob, I suspect a lot of guys get rejected and maybe the wink is the easiest way not to have their ego bruised.

Hello Richard ;)
I agree with you but if you think about it, that dirty guy looking for young guys is probably not a great person to talk to or be with, so maybe they are doing us a favor by taking themselves out of the ring for us.

Dave, that's a great attitude, especially the have a blast part.
