Sci Fi Horror or Reality?

I heard something the other day that made my stomach feel sick. Apparently they created a monkey/human hybrid. It was created by western doctors but they had to go to China  because ethical countries wouldn't allow it. I fear what that country will do as they increase their technology. I'm all for research but they need to be cautious, we can't start playing god. The reason they did this is to create mankey farms where we can harvest the organs of the little mankeys to be transplanted into humans.  I felt that was sick beyond belief.

I'm not totally sure how this is supposed to work, they were saying that they would alter the human/animal so that it wouldn't develop thinking capabilities like a human. I feel that they will secretly do this anyway, just to see the results because those people (mad scientists) always pull these kinds of stunts. I wonder when they start slaughtering them, is that harvesting the organs or murder.

I can see the other side, your loved one is dying, they just need a new kidney, heart or lungs and you would do anything for them. The doctors tell you that there is only one chance left, he says they have mankeys with human organs growing inside, genetically engineered to be a perfect match. Do you let someone you love die or do they have the surgery. Same for yourself, are you ready to die or do you have the surgery. The article pointed out that there are already pigs growing human organs so it's not something new. The Chinese doctors said it's a win, win already with the pigs, you get human organs for surgery and then after really tasty bacon. I made that last part up, they never said "tasty bacon", it was "pork stir fry". That's also not true.

Maybe not in western countries but who can tell the future, I just have this fear that someday they will have large cages of human-ish creatures, which have been altered to have a basic brain that only lets them survive... and we keep cutting chunks out of them until we have used up everything and they die. It was reported that after proving it could be done, they terminated the fetus. As if that is supposed to reassure us, the only reason you try to see if something came be done, is so you can do it repeatedly. Like some sci fi story from an old twilight zone episode, horror becomes reality.

I don't see any of it. And I firmly DO NOT believe in experimenting on animals. We have already put animals and the earth through hell.

One day we are going to accept that animals are much more like people than we are willing to admit, and then things will get awkward. We eat piggies because they are full of delicious bacon but get mad at Chinese people for eating doggos. But the reality is that we don't even accept that people are much more like people than we are willing to admit.

As for experimenting on animals: this is harsh, but often I feel it is not as harsh as raising animals for meat consumption. (This is not always the case: see spinal cord injury research.)

Also don't forget that behind all this is a coordinated attempt to badmouth China. We have a vested interest in othering that country.

This was a hoax! (thank goodness!!) Here's the information from Snopes.com : https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/human-gorilla-hybrid/

I've seen this movie on several occasions. The person who gets the animal parts is okay for awhile, and then the girlfriend starts noticing a change in the guys personality and later his appearance. Cutting straight to the chase, 1950ish army people show up and bazooka him to death! Or, he gets tangled up in power lines and is electrocuted. It never ends well so no point in carrying on this way.

Not a hoax this time, apparently: https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/world/world-e2-80-99s-first-human-monkey-hybrid-created-in-china-scientists-reveal/ar-AAFh5pB

I thought it would be a hoax but it's a reality. Being an ex-scientist/hospital laboratorian and knowing what humans are capable of, makes me wonder what's next? If they are able to make this hybrid, just think what they would do to make a powerful apelike soldier or slave-like beings to do the dirty work that many humans wouldn't or are incapable of doing. It's scary thinking about the future of the human race.

I hope this is a hoax/urban legend.

Maddie, technically they are part human as well. I think we will end up creating some disease out of this.

Lurky buddy, I know for certain being raised around animals that they do definitely think, no matter what we are told, some a lot more than others. They are more however; like a programmed robot, following a software code only we call it instincts. I only have a problem when they are treated with cruelty, there is thankfully a new mindset, give them a happy life until one bad moment.

This goes beyond experiments, we will be creating half human creatures for medical consumption.

As for bad mouthing a certain country, Canada has become a target for their arm twisting. They are as dangerous as portrayed.

Lefting, no sadly it's not a hoax, there were many false stories of cross breeding which I believe biologically can't actually happen. This however is through genetic engineering.

Deedles, then there is also the one where he becomes leader of a powerful nation and... oh sorry no.. that wasn't a movie, that was the news.

Lurky, thank you, see.. I'm not lying! It's in a lot of the mainstream media and not online with the UFO and Bigfoot sightings.

Leanna, they did it with gene manipulation. Very creepy, I can see one day some weird disease will come out of this or some rogue state will start to wonder why we don't start using mentally handicapped children instead of monkey hybrids, scary beginnings.

Richard, no hoax, see Lurker's link above, it has been on different media outlets.

There's a book written by Robin Cook where they used bonobos to grow organs for humans. Title: Chromosome 6

sbrgirl, I googled the book, I'm glad to see it's fiction and not a documentary on secret experiments that I didn't know about.
