Stepped into it I did.
Well here is what I have been up to, a little while ago, I suddenly had the urge to do something about my lack of gay friends and I decided to put out feelers for my area, I had the bright idea that I would be more inclined to follow up with a friendship if the people were close by. At first I was very pleased with the response, there were some good emails going back and forth between myself and different guys. I was surprised by the number as well. The problem appeared within a few days however when I was trying to meet with some of them. It turns out, from the group of about fifteen guys, fourteen are married and wanted to start something on the side, the one who is single does seem to be nice but he says he is fifty one; however looks more like seventy one. Oh well, it was worth a try.

Ah the eternal Ottawa conundrum: the married man! When I first moved to Ottawa - long before you were born - I went on the "dating scene" for lack of a better word and discovered that almost all the guys were married. And happily so with 2 1/2 normal children, a house in Blackburn Hamlet with a mortgage at 6 3/4%, a station wagon and a wife who they loved, no honestly they'd been sweethearts since grade school, but she just didn't have what they really wanted: a cock! And of the others there was the problem on lighting.. as they say in Gilbert and Sullivan: they could very well pass for 42 in the dark, with the light behind them.
But as you said - you tried.
The crazy thing Will is that it was out here in the country area that I am in now. I didn't think there would be so many guys married to women who are into men out here. There are so many single guys out here that I suspect are gay but too shy/awkward, I was baiting the hook but caught the wrong fish. Like you, I also was shocked when I first started to date in Ottawa, all these married guys answered my ad, I thought the world was playing some weird joke on me!
Yes it is worth a try. Keep trying.
I will Michael, I'm a little discouraged but just need to find a better way.
