My PSA!

Unfortunately we learned today of our first covit 19 case here in Ottawa. A forty years old man that had returned from Austria. Apparently he is doing fine and is in self isolation. This is the first case here but definitely it won't be the last. I heard a specialist yesterday saying that we are not taking this serious enough. His point made total sense and was chilling. People get pneumonia all the time, they are hospitalized and may even have to go on a respirator for a while. Hospitals are equipped to handle this however it's usually a few people in a month. What happens when ten people show up at every hospital needing this care, what happens when it gets to twenty... thirty.. fifty... two hundred? Now something simple becomes overwhelming, a place ready to handle five people, can't handle five hundred people. He was saying that's why we need to be cautious and at least slow the spread so that the medical community can keep up.

I'm not trying to scare you, just it's not helpful when people say there is nothing to worry about. I see many of you have PSA announcements about washing your hands, a straight male friend sent me a good one that I think fits in well with 90% of my readers. I think being from a straight guy, it was just too good not to share. Lol.

Ummm, yeah that works for me. Also stay one meter or three feet from people when possible. At gay bowling Monday night, everyone was doing the elbow bump instead of shaking hands. Buy lots and lots of toilet paper, I'm not sure why but that seems to be the thing to do. Seriously you should stock up on things like canned or frozen food just to be safe. If your area or you suddenly experience lockdown, at least you have food on hand. Don't panic but treat it like a bad storm coming that will close everything for a week or so, use some common sense. I heard that the virus can live on a surface for over a week so keep in mind not only door handles but shopping carts, cafeteria tables, bank machines, your cellphone, laptops, bus or subway hand rails etc.

I hope nobody we know suffers from this, hopefully there will be a vaccine soon or it fizzles out. This gives us a glimpse of what could happen with a really dangerous plague, regarding how fast it could spread and get out of control, plus how fast the medical community could be overwhelmed.

Escalator rails (my phobia)! I have immune issues and have kept Purell in my car for over two decades. When washing hands, I hum Happy Birthday. Last night, the Smart One and I did a duet.
I don't think I could ever finish washing Mr Mamoa. I'd get stuck in the middle.

we have 8 cases in our county, 4 people who had traveled to infected areas and 4 who (of all things) caught it from an MD.

Jimmy, funny you mentioned escalator rails, I kept encouraging MrX to use his coat sleeve at the museum and I used an elevator that was slightly hidden, so it wasn't being used very much. Maybe we are supposed to wash Jason from the waist up?

Anne Marie, good grief! We go to the doctor to get better, not get sick! I think the cat is out of the bag now.

I volunteer to help out Mr. Mamoa. And I’ve found myself washing my hands more. And I now do the paper towel on the handle when leaving the restroom.

And not to be an alarmist, Jimmy, but make sure your Purell has at least 60% alcohol. I guess the standard Purell does not have alcohol.

We have drive thru coronavirus testing in Denver. You need a doctors note to be tested.

Anne Marie, MD's are the dirtiest people!

Huntley, check, double check.

There is something to worry about because a vast majority act like it's nothing;but it can bet better is y'all wash your GODDAMNED hands and take care of yourself.

Jason Momoa is going to be rubbed raw by the time this is all over.

How's the romance? There seems a lightness to your writing

I aint panicking, and haven't change a thing in my life. I always wash my hands and use to much hand sanitizer probably. Call me Joan Crawford. I and a friend might plan a trip to Portofino In Italy this spring or summer and friends are like no, no ,no traveling for you this year. I said fuck it. 1- your gonna die of something, when time is up, it's up... and 2- Let's face it, with my gin intake nothing will invade me. I haven't been sick in years.

And I have always found Jason Momoa disgusting. He looks like he need to bath in hand sanitizer.

As far as I know, we don't have any cases yet in Central PA because viruses spread exponentially and because we have an Idiot Jerk in the White House who keeps saying that most people will not have severe symptoms, testing has been shit. Ah well, this is how it goes.

Yes!
Friendly reminders always come handy. We had the first case in downtown Chicago yesterday. It's going to spread.
The inability of IMPOTUS to act efficiently is absolutely appalling.
And I'd scrub Jason Momoa any time.

XOXO

I try to wear my gloves all the time now when I'm out. I feel like my hands are poisonous when I have to go shopping.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Richard, really? Pull up and stick your arm in a window?

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Jimmy, waiting rooms scare me the most!

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Bob, I use my feet! I think people are starting to wake up!

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Debra, I have to find someone for you, what about... oh no, I don't know any movie star's names, I have to get back to you.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

John, things are good, I could write about it every day but that would be boring for you guys. Thank you.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Maddie, gin huh? Maybe I need to try some! I'm not really a Jason fan either, he's not really my type but a lot of men and women like him and I thought it was cute that a straight guy sent me that.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Dave, so far we just have the one guy but that will change I assume. I keep getting the feeling we are not getting the whole truth.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Sixpence, you are such a nice man, very kind of you to help Mr Mamoa! Lol.
I think you guys have it already and if you do... there will be a lot of sick people in the next week or two.

You and Jason should educate people, I gotta support that. Not my type either but, does the thing for this cause. People need to stay safe. And wash your damn hands ya'll, lmao! xD

Hey, kiddo! I'll wash Jason mmmmmMamoa if you'll throw Chris Hemsworth into the mix! I'm going to have to get a bigger tub. I've been dying to shampoo Jason's hair from the moment I saw it, at least until I was distracted by his beautiful, uh, eyes! I probably would've remembered the point of this post if you'd have left out this picture.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Hotguys, yes I'm only doing this for a good cause. ; )

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Deedles, now see... another example of why you and I get along so well! Chris Hemsworth I do think needs a good scrubbing, also it would be mean not to include his younger brother. Here's the soap Deedles... now let's get to work. Umm yeah.. what was the point of this post again?

My first reaction was to see this you were posting your first PSA test (prostate) and thinking good for you but why on earth are you getting one/you are too young/something must be the matter. I am glad to read it was merely about washing your hands. :-)

Dr Spo, nope the plumbing seems to be working fine so far lol.
