Grape soup.

Well I guess if I'm going to switch to lighter things, then I should mention what I had for bachelor supper last night. "Bachelor supper" is all the crazy things bachelors eat because our mothers are not around to stop us. My favorite one years ago was blueberry pie and chocolate milk.

Yesterday I was washing a bunch of black grapes, my favorite kind. I used to eat the green or red ones, then one day I tried black and I couldn't go back, just too delicious. As I was washing these grapes, I noticed a bunch of tiny holes, I wasn't sure if they were made while the grapes were being stored or as my imagination began to say, maybe something laid an egg in there. I didn't want to throw them out so I boiled them with a little sugar, like I was about to make grape jam.

However I had put too much water in and so I accidentally made soup... grape soup. It tasted as good as it sounds, or better than depending on your reaction! I came up with a good idea, I was dipping shortbread cookies in the "soup", they are a little bland to begin with so the grape flavor pimped them up a lot. In fact I ate the entire pot. A much more exotic bachelor supper than my usual peanut butter and honey sandwich, or the tomato/onion special. Hmmm let's see, Thursday's menu... strawberry soup!

When this whole coronavirus thing is over, you need to open your own restaurant!

Debra, I need to place a paper towel under your comment, it seems to be dripping with sarcasm. Hahaha! :D

Write a cookbook. At least a folder of all your foods you like to make.

Anne Marie, blueberry soup sounds awesome!

Jimmy, I should. Then I would add in my lazy-man recipes for spaghetti and pizza!

Haha
Hey the best dishes are sometimes accidents. Also, not all soups have to be chicken noodle. The first time I tried Gazpacho I could not believe how good it was.
I should try cooking more. I could burn water.

XOXO

Further proof that once you go black you never go back.

I bet your grape soup would be good with vanilla ice-cream.

Sixpence, well I'm no Chief Boyardsteve but I can cook-ish. I'm not sure if I was a better cook when I was younger or would just eat anything in site but I feel that I was not bad when younger.

Bob... you really do get me! : )

Richard, oooow, that's a great idea! Also plain yogurt and maybe even I should try making popsicles next time.

Steven, I'm just filling in for Old Lurker. And speaking of him, he seems to have gone missing. I hope he's just lurking and not ill.

I had a similar thing happen, but threw them all out. I don't want eggs or whatever they were in me. Dead or otherwise. I just got chills.

True story about my refrigerator: it dries things out. I have some grapes that have been in it for about a month, in another month they'll be raisins. I have dried out oranges decorating a bowl in my living room. Who'd have thunk?

Gotta admit, even though I'm full... Soup sounds awesome! ^.^

A regular Julia Childs or Galloping Gourmet you are Steven. Necessity is the mother of invention. Maybe patent it and see if Campbell’s is interested.

Deedles, yes that would be perfect, instead of a hot chicken sandwich covered in gravy, it could be a hot grapesalami sandwich covered in grape sauce! You're a genius!!!

Michael, I might get sued for food poisoning! Hahaha!

Debra, apparently someone was a little bit harsh with him and pretty much banished him from the blogosphere. Ugh... some people can be such jerks I tell you!

Mistress, I could tell that it probably was the handling but my dramatic side was saying it was bugs infected with disease and they inserted eggs inside. Hey boiled eggs are good for you, they don't always have to come from chickens. Ewwww lol!

Dave, that's a cool story about your refrigerator!

Get it? Cool? :D

Hotguys, it could be your dessert!

HuntleyBiGuy, I think something is wrong with the corporation that owns Campbell's, every time I call to mention my grape soup, the line goes dead.

Steven, I was thinking along the lines of what people do with grilled cheese and tomato soup. I find that to be quite revolting! Tomato soup, *shudder*. Now, who out there had the nerve to hurt our Lurkster? On purpose? I miss him so much.
To pass my isolation time, I've decided to grow out my beard and mustache. Just to see how long it will grow. Am I bored? Nope, just eccentrically nutz.

Deedles, grilled cheese and tomato soup is sooo g... um yeah gross, I was going to say gross, ummm who would eat that. Okay.. okay I confess... I love it! If you're looking for the place where nutty people grow their bears out, well.... ! :)

Somebody's growing bears? And here I am working on my feminine chin whiskers!
Flashback time, cue the blurry, wavy lines. Back when I was a young whippersnappette of around 6 or so, my mother cooked a can of Campbell's tomato soup and served it to us in cheap, wooden salad bowls. I threw up. I can still taste that woody tomatoey ugh flavor whenever I think of tomato soup. I haven't been able to eat it since. I do love me some grilled cheese though (no lunchmeat or jelly involved). I love you even though you don't think that particular food combo is gross. Diversity is what it's about!

Deedles, yup the Campbell's tomato soup is gross, it's too gritty. We have Aylmer's tomato soup and that's my favorite. I think that's only a Canadian thing. Food diversity!
