TV, Gay Wedding Moment.

Last week I enjoyed a tv moment, I don't have much choice when it comes to television way out here in the country, many nights I only get one channel. I was watching an episode of "How to get away with murder". I started watching because of Viola Davis, she could do a dog food commercial and I would want to see how it ends. To be honest I think the show is a little evil and not in the cool kind of evil but as in actually corrupt. Anyway two gay characters got married in last week's episode. I was thinking that I have watched gay couples marry on tv before but not a couple that I have followed along with for years. It made it extra special.

I could step into the characters and get a glimpse of what it must be like to get married in front of family and friends to someone you love. I was enjoying the moment and taking in the fact that I was watching something on tv that when young, I could never have even dreamed would be part of the regular tv hour. To add to the romance, one of the characters sang a song to his new husband, I was not aware he could sing so well. I admit that I clapped when they said "I do" and kissed, I love seeing "my people" being represented on the small screen.

Of course the show had to ruin the moment by having some of the main characters murder someone, which they often do. I don't want to go down that road in this post, I want to focus on the positive side regarding the wedding. Also speaking of ruining something, this post crashed and I lost everything I wanted to say, so now you are getting the rushed from memory version.

I love that romantic mush, this princess still dreams that a prince will come to swoop me off my feet and take me away to make our vows. At least I got to daydream about it, a glimpse into the possibility.

It wouldn't be a happy moment on HTGAWM without a murder, but I, too, loved the wedding, and lovelovelove Miss Davis!

Bob, lol I guess it wouldn't be "how to get away with murder" without a murder!

I think it's great that "gay" weddings are portrayed on tv. It's as it should be.
I do love a wedding. My eldest son is getting married on the 29th of December so big hat, posh dress etcetera have all been purchased. His bride to be is a lovely girl. It's my sons second marriage. After his first marriage he found out he'd inadvertently married a reincarnation of Attila the bun so we are all hoping it's better second time around. It will be. I can tell!

It will be a difficult day as a mother because as I've said before my youngest son is gay and single and he soooo wants to be with someone. He would admit himself that he has a difficult personality. He's awkward around people and suffers from anxiety terribly. The day will be an ordeal for him. So, two sides to one wedding.

I have no idea who Violet Davis is but I shall look her up!
Bye for now. I'm off to Bruges.....😀

I do love a gay wedding - or a gay proposal for that matter. YouTube is full of the latter. If you want to be left moist eyed, go have a look.
By the way - you have a good memory...!

You love to see "your people" represented on small screens? That would explain all the Grindr.

Sweet post. I remember back in the Jurassic age, my parents getting all excited whenever a Black person was on the screen, so I kind of understand.

Christina, good luck to your son with his new wife, long and happy life together. There are many many gay men with anxiety issues, awkwardness, shy etc, etc so there is someone out there for him that's a perfect fit! :)

Sixpence, I have a soft spot for Oliver as well, lol he is the only decent one on the show!!! It was a pleasant surprise how well he can sing.

JP, I embarrassingly admit that I used to watch videos like that, plus also positive coming out moments.... then I would just cry and cry and finally laugh.

Deedles, yes lol, they usually brought on a black person to pretend how everyone on show "X" was not racist and then the next week back to their all white cast. I would get excited when they would show a gay man that didn't want to wear a dress and lisped when he spoke. Eye roll please.

Now, now. Growing up in the country is not the same thing as coming from another planet, whatever affinity the two demographics may share for anal probes.

OL, I never understand why intelligent life would fly across the universe just to find out what we eat by sticking a probe up our butts. If they are so intelligent, couldn't they just ask us what we had for dinner?
