Winter returns, with a VENGEANCE!

Yesterday it was warm and with it came heavy rains. The weather networks were calling for cooling temperatures in the evening, with snow at midnight. However mother nature didn't listen to the news. By six in the evening the temperature dropped and my car was already covered in snow. The wind picked up and my power kept going out for hours at a time. The snow stuck to the wet trees and they started to topple over onto the power lines. Sometime during the night my power went off and it's still not on. I'm sitting in a coffee shop typing this and having something warm to eat. I may not have power back on until tomorrow. My house is c.c.coooooold.

Winter decided to come back with a vengeance. I guess we need the snow for Santa but... I can't really complain, the second week of November looked frightening but since then we have had a decent fall. I went out this morning, sometimes vengeance can be pretty.

I like to follow, Two Men and a Farm, it makes me smile when talking about what they are growing at their farm around this time of year. This is my garden, snowpeas maybe??? Ice wine perhaps?

I'm not getting these apples, now that they are frozen, a little too crispy for my liking! Plus to high up on a snow covered ladder.

 Okay Santa, we're ready!

Don't forget iceberg lettuce. Also creamsicles, when the cows get cold.

When Santa visited Maddie's house it certainly did not seem as if he was craving snow. I respectfully suggest that the snow go away and never come back. I am doing my best to burn as many fossil fuels as possible to ensure that happens.

Haha
Between you and Lurkie, on with the puns.
But really. This snow in/snow out messes up my days of commute. Really.

XoXo

I'd like a little snow this way; it's so purty. Of course, two flakes and the entire state shuts down,so that's good, too.

Oh ! That looks so lovely! I miss snow at Christmas time.

It seems like just yesterday everybody was complaining about it being to hot. Well, stay warm and well-fed, snookums. The seasons are speeding by.

I assure you, Ms Deedles, that I was not complaining of the heat. Mysterious bug bites? Sure. Nudists at the bowling alley? Guilty as charged. But let me never complain of the heat or the light until I die and go to my eternal punishment (which I hear is as hot as Arizona, and thus might be too much for me).

I am so happy to read that your blood sugar is improving, by the way. Maybe something worthwhile happened in 2019 after all.

Your snow scenes look so beautiful, but I am glad I am just looking at the pictures and not living in them. Stay warm!

My dear Lurkster, I was using the general everybody, not specifically pointing at you. I would never accuse you of complaining about anything *cough*. I find that despite how depressed I get this time of year, I kind of welcome the cold, but it is going too fast.
Yes, my blood sugar dropping and a little weight loss, is the highlight of my year. Boy, I'm such an exciting person! I'm happy to make you happy anytime, Lurkster :)

You should get that cough looked at, Ms Deedles. It sounds troublesome.

But don't worry. You make me happy all the time.

We had just a light dusting of snow in the Chicago area. It will be gone before Christmas and we probably won’t have a white Christmas. Weather historians will tell you that less than 50% if Chicago’s Christmases have snow. But our memories trick us into believing most of them do.

I hope your electricity comes back soon and you don’t have more storms like that soon. Be safe and warm.

Hey Huntley, Balder Half was born and raised until the age of fourteen on the south side of Chicago, you know, the baddest part of town :) His parents were immigrants from the far off countries of Arkansas and Mississippi. I visited once. I'll stay here.

Lurkey! That's it! You got it! I was trying to remember the other vegetable that sounds cold... iceberg lettuce!!!

My old tractor belches out enough fumes when plowing snow that I single handedly raised the earth's temperature by 2.3 degrees... so at least I'm doing my part!

Sixpence, what can we do, at least there are mosquitoes, although I killed one in my kitchen yesterday.

Bob, okay it's on its way!!!

Dr Spo, says the man who never has to worry about a snowstorm!
:D

Deedles, people complain about heat... say it's not true!

Stop Lurker! Stop right there, no going back and bringing up a post of me complaining about the heat!!!

Lurker, hey if you end up in the toasty place, at least we will all be together again.

Michael, I try to avoid going out... until May!!!

HuntleyBiGuy, the power came back on later that night but the house was still warm so all was good.

Deedles, Mrs who?

Lol, "I'll stay here"!

I grew up on the nort’ west side. Lived there until my 20s before going to the NW burbs. Mom was born and bread and dad was born in Wisconsin and lived with his sister in Minnesota to help on the farm. I like my changing seasons. But as I get older I keep hoping for a lottery windfall.

HuntleyBiGuy... and you will share those winnings with blog friends right? Hahaha!
