7.5
The world's population is roughly 7.5 billion people. Driving home from work, I was thinking how strange it is then, with all these people, that someone could feel so alone. There are thousands of people in the same boat, alone or feeling alone and yet they are surrounded by all these people, seems to be a fact that doesn't make sense.

You have your answer
Get out of your bubble of a car and meet people..
Most humans are so similar..i have always found!
7.5 billion people all in a rush and it is such a shame. Used to when I passed someone in the hall, on the street, or even in a grocery aisle in my mad supposedly rush I would not even make eye contact but something changed several years ago. Now, as I pass that stranger I will say hello hope you're having a good day as I walk pass them. Yes, sometimes I get a strange stare but the majority of time, I get a response and smile and a like wise in return. Now mind you, it has never turned in a conversation leading to the mysteries of universe but it does make for a little less feeling alone.
Its like that here in London. I often think where are all these people going and what are they doing, and who are they doing it with. I'm not sure I know the answer.
JP
I actually do meet with people John but I find nobody has time anymore for a proper visit.
Stephen, it is funny to see how startled people are by a stranger being friendly but you are right in that most will quickly jump at the chance to be friendly back.
JP, many are in a hurry to get home, warm something in the microwave and sit alone in front of the tv all evening. On the flip side is the people who have events to always be at and can never be with you more than an hour.
yes, this is a common sensation; it is quite the paradox to be surrounded by so many and yet feel lonely.
Dr. Spo, I wonder how many people feel this way. That was one of the great things about being in a relationship, I had a partner in crime.
