Men in ties.

Keeping things on the lighter side. This morning driving through downtown, I was watching a couple of young men walking, laughing and talking on their way to work. The weather was warm so they were not wearing jackets. They had on dress shirts and a tie, I saw the same thing coming home this evening only they were older men. I love men with a tie on and a coordinated dress shirt, I found all of them looked incredibly handsome this way, I like a man dressed up, I find it presses all the right buttons with me.

I know that I joke about wearing old jeans etc but to be honest I do both. At home I like to be comfortable, if I'm invited to a neighbour's around here, I'm expected to show up in comfortable clothes, it's about relaxing and enjoying company of friends. In the city however I do like to dress up and go out every now and again. I love it when the guys at work have to dress up, it makes them show like the handsome peacocks they really are. I like when a group of us dress up to go out, that never happens anymore.

The other day I bought some dress shirts, I get a little thrill out of doing that, a gay man that enjoys shopping, go figure. I'm not sure if you have Winners or Marshalls where you live, name brand clothes sold for much less  of a price, I love going there. When I came home, I was looking over my haul, as I went to put them away there was a bag hanging inside one of the closets, when I opened the bag... jackpot! Apparently I went shopping and completely forgot about these shirts! I was thrilled all over again because I didn't remember what I bought lol. It must have been just before Christmas and I hung up the bag and forgot.

Anyway, handsome men with ties, oh yes that makes my day! I think if I ever get to marry someone, he better not show up in shorts, t-shirt and sandals or it's a divorce before the wedding even happens!

I have to agree with you about the ties. I love a dressed up man. Balder Half looks best in bright colored shirts, ties and dark suits. I still love a three piece suit. Hardly anyone dresses up anymore. I love casual too, but some places just scream for suits and a nice cocktail dress (not necessarily on the same person) and yet folks will come in wearing casual clothes and flip-flops. These should be the first to go in your quest for world domination. Special sandwiches are on standby.

You would love Philly then. During the week, after work and at happy hours, 3/4 of the men are all in shirt and ties. Oh my.

A well dressed man in a suit will get me too. And as we know, a tie can also be fun and serve purpose off the man too, wink , wink!!!!!

And Debs said it...go put on a shirt and tie and get yourself a drink in town.

Mysterious bags of clothes are just showing up in your closet and you aren't concerned? What was in that bag, anyways?

Deedles, honestly I love a woman in a nice cocktail dress as well, women also seldom take the opportunity to look pretty these days and it's too bad. Lol "on the same person" I luv you Deedles :D that's funny, but we don't judge in case they do lol.

Oh yes.
A man in a tie! Absolutely! Men rarely accessorize and wearing a tie or a pocket handkerchief is a fancy as they can go. Some go as far as a to try a tie clip or -heavens- cuff links. But just a dress shirt and a tie make a man look.... more polished? And they kind of make a man puff his chest just a little bit. And I approve.

So what’s in that bag?

XoXo

Lurker, I left it in another closest that I sometimes use, the only concern I have is I don't really remember buying them and I have a close relative with Alzheimer's disease O.O!
I did think that I had shirts somewhere but couldn't find them and gave up looking. There were four shirts in the bag, one was from Sears which went bankrupt in Canada about three years ago.

Anne Marie, I think you have been hanging around Maddie too much.... or maybe he has been hanging around you too much... lol!!!

Sixpence, yes men looked polished yay! Shirts were in the bag. I was trying to get nice photos off the net of guys wearing a tie but that became frustrating really quickly with quirky tie photos.

To paraphrase ZZ Top, and why wouldn't I:
"Every man's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man."

Now, the one look that always gets me is a man in Levi's. and they must be Levi's because anything else is just denim, and a crisp white dress shirt.
Oy, I'm melting.

I love a guy in shirt and tie too. Sometimes I'll wear a tie out on Friday night when I'm touring the galleries. Denver is a laid back town. It's not unusual to see a guy in a t-shirt and shorts at the Symphony.

@bob - that's the video link I posted in my comment.

@steven - I knew about "ties" long before I met maddie...

Bob, yes that's hot as well. I only wear Levi's because they are the most comfortable and because most other jeans make a person look like they are wearing a diaper underneath! Lol

Richard, it's amazing to see what people wear to weddings, wakes and funerals these days. I'm afraid someone is going to show up barefoot and shirtless one of these days.

JP, think of it this way, I see a nicely dressed man the same way you see food stuck to Guido in bed. ;p

Anne Marie, well... look at you my naughty naughty friend. ;)

bow ties are cool

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Dr Spo, no they are not, they look nerdy and uptight. Men with a bowtie are usually trouble.
