Sensing something.
I don't watch tv shows anymore because I find most shows boring and childishly written. I have always liked shows with a different twist to them, character driven shows, good shows that usually get cancelled because people can't follow them or feel uncomfortable with the show.
Shows like, Six feet under, Looking, Orphan Black, Mary Kills People and many more. I recently have access to Netflix on certain days and lately there is not a lot to do but watch television. Over the last year I kept hearing about a show called Sense8, I decided to try watching a few episodes. I really, really like this show, it's not at all what I was expecting. I thought it was just going to be a gritty version of "Friends" or a bit like "Queer as Folk" something along those lines. However there is a much more complex plot to the show.
Unfortunately it has already been taken off the air after only two seasons. I'm about five episodes in the first season and I find it getting better and better with each episode. It also has LGBTQ characters in the show and I appreciate that, I like seeing a more realistic portrayal of society, I like to see myself reflected on the screen.
Did anyone here watch that show? Does anyone here recommend a show?

I followed Orphan Black and didn't want it to end. It was so good. There is a show on Netflix that you might want to check out. It's called Ozark. Season two is about to start. Talk about crazy hindsight on that one.
I actually don't watch too much tv. I did like some on Netflix that ended, but started no new ones. Im more a movie person. Thing to remember about Netflix. Their shows are not build for the long-term they said. Much will only be around for a couple seasons, not years and years.
Ohhh Sens8 was the ish. I love that show!
It did last only two seasons, but it was really cool.
Netflix has so much to watch!
Riverdale and The Chilling adventures of Sabrina
The Rain, Better than Us and The Protector
Always a Witch, Gentefied and Green Frontier
The Haunting of Hill House, Vampires and Marianne...
So much to watch.
XOXO
Heard of it; never seen it.
I enjoyed Sense 8. I especially enjoyed the scenes with the actor and his boyfriend. Such hot men!
Never heard of Sense 8, I do, however, sense a theme with Sixpence.
Sense 8 was one of Thomas Roberts favorite shows. He'd mention it when he was still on MSNBC. I think Don Lemon was a fan, too. Me, I couldn't get in to it.
And, will someone tell Franklin Graham to go fuck himself! Those commercials. Ugh!!
Stevie, sweetheart, are you okay? Your quiet seems more quiet somehow. Could be just my imagination, running away with me (cue the Temptations). Hugs anyway.
Leanna, yes Orphan Black was good! I missed the last season, I want to start from the beginning again. I loved Tatiana Maslany, she is so good! Amazing how she could play the clone Alison, pretending to be Sarah and the audience could pick that up, that's talent.
Thank you for the recommendation, I will try that show next.
Cali B, actually that's probably a good way to make shows, that way they will stay fresh and everything is on the table.
Sixpence, someone has a new catch phrase! ;P
Okay good, I'm glad you liked it! I am getting a feeling you wish it was about to be Halloween and not Easter! Lol
Bob, it's sort of sci-fi...ish.
Richard, there are very cute men on that show! I'm looking forward to seeing more episodes.
Deedles, it can be violent, I don't think you would like it.
Regarding Sixpence, you felt that too did you! Hahaha!
Jimmy, I'm in Canada remember? I don't know who those people are.
Deedles, thank you for asking, I'm good Deedles, just busy with "stuff". Sometimes as well my internet keeps going down, I get frustrated trying to read or write stuff on my blog and give up.
Watched a couple episodes and couldn't get into it
Dave, I found it a little jumbled at first but then things started to come together. It's not for everyone. Just like I could never understand the hype over "Friends" or "Seinfeld", I tried watching them but just couldn't be bothered.
THANK YOU, STEVEN!!!!! I get tired of thinking that I'm the only one who couldn't stand those two particular shows! "Friends" was hardly tolerable and "Seinfeld" wasn't tolerable at all! I love you so much right now, even if you do like tomatoes.
Tomatoes are... evil? I'm trying to stay in "our" moment Deedles! :D
You haven't mentioned Mr.X. Is he Kaput?
Steven, sweetie, sugar pie. Tomatoes aren't evil, they're icky! Brussels sprouts, rutabagas and beets, now that's EVIL!
Six Feet Under is very weird and sometimes uncomfortable to watch but, I enjoyed it back in the day. Of course, the LGBT-theme is a plus, but the show was good. And that ending, I mean, it's one of the best TV series finales in the history of TV, I'm sure.
Put me on the Hater list of Seinfeld and Friends, too!!! Glad to know I have company!
You go, Jennifer! Now how do you feel about tomatoes? It's not important as long as you hate the right shows. Hugs girl.
Jimmy, did someone pee in your cornflakes this morning? Hahaha! Joking.
Deedles, no beets are just misunderstood, they are not evil. Especially thinly sliced, boiled with a little butter on them. Brussels sprouts have a slight sulfur taste left over from rolling out of the dark place and rutabagas, well years of therapy have helped me from running screaming from grocery stores.
Hot Guys, I absolutely agree, one of the best series endings that I ever saw. At the time I was watching it with a boyfriend and he kept crying and crying lol.
Jennifer, okay lol join the club! There's nothing I hate worse than when someone says, "you probably just didn't understand the humor" umm, no I understood it just fine, I didn't find it that funny. It's just a matter of taste that's all, they weren't my cup of tea.
Deedles... I got nothing. :\
Just shake your pom-poms, Steven.
I'm shaking my head. :D
I love tomatoes, but only good, home grown tomatoes, not the appalling red globes they sell in grocery stores!
I have not watched this show, but I have heard good things about it.
I agree Jennifer, store bought tomatoes don't even taste like a tomato.
Michael, it's hard to figure out at first but then I really got into it.
Steven, I just realized that I said rutabaga when I meant rhubarb (celery's whore of a cousin, dressed in red). I don't know what a rutabaga is but the name alone is enough for me to hate it.
Oh Deedles now I know we truly are kindred spirits (whatever that fluffy crap means). I hate rhubarb.. haaaaate it. I was chased off a hippie homesteading, "back to the land" forum site for saying that. I guess I upset their organic infused minds. When someone says they made a rhubarb and strawberry pie, I say they ruined a good strawberry pie!
Rutabaga is also known as..... (shivers)..turnip! Eeeeeeeek!
Turnip? Turnip? UGH NOOOOOOO! Hate those suckers with a heated passion! Funny thing though, turnip greens are pretty good when cooked with collards and mustard greens.
I loved Queen of the South on Netflix.
I'll check out Sense8
Turnip always has lumps in it, what's up with that.. ugh!
RB, yes I heard that's supposed to be good. I will keep that in mind as well.
I don't watch TV so I am no help.
I am reading a lot of books rather.
However, I very much enjoyed 'Good Omens" give that one a try why don't you.
Okay Dr Spo, will do when I have a chance.
watch Please Like Me on Hulu and the show creator has a new series we just started watching Everything's Gonna Be Okay with the same star. Both shows are very gay.
Mark... oh yes that's a good show, I saw the first few episodes whenever it first came out but unfortunately my station stopped showing it. I had forgotten all about it.
