Words Waiting to be Invented
There should be a word invented for the feeling a person gets when after having an exhausting day and have nicely drifted off to sleep, you wake up to the sound of rain. You don't want to have to move but you realize that you have to get up from your cozy bed and close all the windows in your house. There should also be a word for the feeling you get when after flopping back into bed, you realize that you left your car windows open and need to get up, get dressed and go outside in the pouring rain to close them.

Oh, Steven. There are plenty of words for that! They have a nice blue tint to 'em. I personally don't use any of them but I can think of a few people who are quite proficient with the language.
@deedles - oh, like ME, for instance?
bobdamn sonofabitch muthafucka bullshit! would by MY choice of words for having to deal with the second scene.
Hahahahahaha, Deedles has hit the nail on the head!
@Anne Marie- I didn't want to name names, Carebear, just in case my words were taken as an aspersion rather than a compliment :) You are indeed the queen of the cobalt conversation enhancers!
There are terms adjacent to what you are looking for, such as "hypnic jerk". Also close but not exact might be characterising your experience as a parasomnia. None of these are correct, though.
My question is what you are doing leaving your car windows open unattended? Are you trying to invite burglars to break in and steal your 8-track cassette player? Do you leave your door unlocked too? How about putting a sign on your door that says "THIEVES PLEASE TAKE MY STUFF" on it?
I concur with Anne Marie.
@deedles - I ALWAYS take your words as compliments! :)
@richard - thank you darling!
I didn't use any of the words mentioned above... but I was thinking some of them in my head! Plus the windows were only down enough to let the rain in and also remember the only thief would be a raccoon... thankfully skunks can't climb!
Petrichor Uhtcaere
I should have known Dr. Spo would come through. "uhtcaere" is one of my favourite words, too.
Ok I'll admit it, I have to Google it.
