How Worried are You?
Just wondering how people are feeling these days, anxiety, stress levels? Regarding this dumb ass plague, how worried are you about getting sick? About dying from this disease?
1) Not that worried, I might get sick but I feel that I will be fine.
2) Not that worried about myself, I will be fine but I'm worried about certain people close to me.
3) Concerned and cautious but feel that as long as I follow health officials advice I will be okay.
4) Worried, the numbers make me uneasy, I would not want to get this. I feel some threat from it. I don't focus on it all the time but the virus is always at the back of my mind.
5) Really scared, I feel I could die if I get it. I just want to hide out until a vaccine is found. I'm under a lot of stress over the virus, it's always on my mind. I get emotional at times because of it.
What are you thinking? How are you feeling? All answers and opinions are correct. You can just choose a number if you want or make a comment. As for myself, I think that I bounce between 4 and 5, I would also add in the emotions of anger, disbelief and loneliness.

Hover between 2 and 3. Some friends and family are in the more vulnerable populace so worry here and there for them
I'm am a solid 3. If I would get it, I don't think I'd die...my doctor has always told me my immune system seems very strong. I haven't been sick in years, I have no allergies to anything, I swear it's is the gin!!!!! If you were a virus would you invade me????
I only mostly worry about the job situation and how long for sure we'll be out, or if we even ever will return. I guess I could go on line and do drag acts, or live j/o videos or both. Some people might pay good money to see that from an middle aged gay?
Now excuse me...happy hour has begun!!!! Cheers Carmen!!!!!
@maddie - "If you were a virus would you invade me????" - you have been invaded by better menz, dear. the virus would never survive the gin.
me - a solid 3 also. I have been through worse times in my life (abusive home growing up, cancer); this ain't gonna kill me. I follow our governor's guidelines and so far so good.
I'm 2-3
I don't want to catch it so I'm being as careful as I can, but I'm actually more preoccupied right now with the financial ass-kicking my personal retirement funds took in March because of the economic meltdown. Things have rebounded a bit now in April but I still lost mucho dollaros. Visions of ending up as a bag lady are dancing in my head, LOL.
4. I'm simultaneously looking forward to the restrictions being lifted and fearing they might get relaxed to soon.
I would normally consider myself a pessimist but I am a 3 on this even though we are both over 75 and my husband has Parkinson's. Somehow I feel we are doing enough to keep safe. Of course it would be different if we knew anyone who had the virus but we don't. In our county it has been one death in 10,000.
I bounce all over that numerical list. We're considered high risk for health and age reasons, plus we're raising a Grandchild, whose a Teenager now and Kids drag home everything going around and are intense social creatures by Nature at that age. Poor Leadership and the Economic backlash are something I have perhaps higher concerns about... hard to protect yourself as much from either of those things just by Locking Down!
I would say #4. I will stay close to home until there are treatments to make the virus more survivable, or vaccine.
Sort of 1,2 and 3
Robin, hey buddy! It's been awhile, hope all is well with you. For younger people between 2 & 3 is probably a good head space to be in.
Maddie, yes you're under 50 and in shape so you should be fine. It's important to note that the alcohol level has to be 80% or above to kill the virus, so be careful suggesting drinking gin, Lysol or bleach cures C19. It's starting to look like this virus can infect people more than once, so yes if I was a virus I would invade you over and over at all your entry points, (well he asked for it)! On a serious note I get the worry about work, my job may never return.
Anne Marie, I think the virus would be afraid of you so you should be safe.
I disagree, the mistress has never been invade by better!
;)
Bob, as an older person I am pushing you and Carlos closer to "3" lol, of course I'm using a six foot long stick to push you with.
Jimmy, I'm mostly a 4 as well, I feel very uncertain about the whole thing.
Debra, I received all my statements for my and mom's investments but I haven't looked at them yet, life is depressing enough at the moment.
Richard, I would like some things to be lifted, I think most people have grasped the danger and so a majority will still be cautious after. People need to understand that we are in danger until a vaccine is found... if ever.
JanF, I think it does depend on where a person lives so you are probably sensible for feeling at level three. Where my farm is there have been no cases of the virus in any of the towns or villages, so I understand the extreme lockdown we have been put under, it just feels heavy handed at times.
Bohemian, hello welcome! I like the mask picture, very fitting for the times. Yes, I understand your concerns, you are under fire from all sides. There is just no simple solution to this crisis.
RB, I feel the same way, it actually would have been so much easier for me if I was still single, then I would have just resigned myself to remain here until everything passes. Typical of me to find someone just as this started!
Hello Kim, welcome! I guess it depends on your age and how it affects your area. Sometimes I think I worry too much but it's the unknown that gets to me.
I am practicing stoicism which helps me not to worry.
1. Loss of control: let go of the need to be control.
2. Running out of things: you can do without.
3. Fear of others: try to not see people as 'us' vs. 'them' and do what needs to be done.
4. Feeling trapped: sometimes being caged up is a good thing.
5. Fear of death: remember always you could die any day from illness, accident, or at the hands of others. Come to terms with your mortality and make every day well until the inevitable happens.
Dr Spo, number five is slightly different now. It's the difference between saying you could possibly be killed in a car accident today... compared to there are a bunch of killers driving on the highway and 20% of cars will be targeted with three to seven percent people being murdered.
I'm between 2 and 3.
I'm sheltering in place and I try to avoid crowds and the such. I will feel much better when there's a vaccine AND treatment.
XOXO
Somewhere between 2 and 3. I do go out for things as needed. And where a mask in public and wash my hands upon returning home. But I think we’ll get through this relatively unscathed.
