Whoa I'm peeved!

Went to go gay bowling this evening, there was only street parking; however there are "no parking" signs everywhere. The city was handing out $75 tickets all day because of the snow yesterday, I don't want one of those.. $75 ouch! I ended up driving around and around and around looking for a spot, I'm not familiar with the area.

I had to be there by 6:15 and my watch said 6:35, I tried a couple of different side streets, no luck. There were "no parking signs on the same poles as parking signs, WTF? I was boiling by this point, I suddenly realized that I was too late, now I was no longer interested in going. I just said "f# off Ottawa, no wonder everyone thinks this city is a joke!" City council would love nothing more than to completely remove all cars from Ottawa, they want everyone to ride their bikes to work at -31. I'm really peeved.. well actually peeved is not the word! I don't understand why people can't hold things in easy accessible areas. I just gave up. I'm going to eat now.

  1. You should ask Spo to make you a festive bowling shirt. I'll bet you'd look marvelous!

Tickets suck. I would have gone to dinner too.

  2. Sixpence, I have no choice I have to use my car.

  3. Sounds like there was a common theme to your parking woes, Mr. "I spend the weekend with my cousins on a Colorado mountain and spend the entire time indoors, then say I can't wait for winter to come".

Surely the people at the bowling alley would have had some parking ideas?

    1. Lurker, I won't go if the weather had just been bad.

  4. That’s the trouble with winter. You can plan parking for perfect weather then BAM! Snow comes and where do you put it? Suddenly ten parking spots are now mountains of snow. I’m sorry your much anticipated outing fizzled out. I hope you didn’t eat the whole package of cookies.

    1. HuntleyBiGuy, ummm about those cookies! Yes mountains of snow would be a good way to describe it.

  5. I bet the City was doing snow clearance that night and needed the streets to be free of cars. Still, aggravating.

    1. Debra yes they were doing clearance, so they are very ticket prone during those times.

  6. There is nothing I loathe more than looking for a parking space or a garage or an alley, or, if necessary, a fairly deserted sidewalk.

  7. Dave, just for that night because of snow, but it certainly sucked.

  8. I was trying to make this a less tense comment section and ended up deleting a bunch of comments.. oops!
Anyway to be honest Lurker I was greatly offended that you did that, I never mentioned being a part of the meetup group or any info about it. Even if you googled "gay bowling in Ottawa" it doesn't come up. I'm not sure what you thought you were going to gain by doing that. I have repeatedly said I'm a private person and didn't want my blog crossing into my real life. You make me feel like I'm being "watched" and not read. Going forward I guess I have to be careful with what I write and that's too bad because I guess I can't share things with you guys.

  9. Elizabeth, sorry I deleted your comment, I found it a little too harsh, I'm trying to keep things smooth-ish.

Deedles your comment got caught in the cross fire... but I still love you!

  10. I hope you win Anne Marie's contest. A shawl for a drafty bowling alley would come in handy with all those balls whizzing around.

  11. Jimmy, I didn't enter the contest, it's beautiful so I feel the ladies should get a chance to win it... and when I say "ladies" I'm including most of the gay bloggers as well! Hahaha!

  12. Steven: If you were actually offended then I apologise. I will attempt not to post information that reveals your activities again, but I may well mess up.

I do not feel that Elizabeth did anything wrong by calling me out. I don't like being called out but it is not wrong to do so.

Incidentally, it was not at all difficult to find the gay bowling event. It did show up on the first page of my search engine results.

As always, you can tell me to buzz off temporarily or permanently, and I will abide by your wishes. I am sad that you do not feel safe sharing with us, but I accept that consequence.

I think there are larger lessons here about being "watched" but I will spare you.

    1. Lurker, yes definitely offended but I also have been thinking about being "watched" and I know what you want to say, the devil I don't know is out there as well. I'm super sensitive about someone inserting themselves into my life, I had trouble years ago with this blog, I had to shut it down for a few days.

Elizabeth emailed me and we both agreed to remove the comment, so we're good, I know you wouldn't care but it bothered me.

  13. Lurkie: you are sounding more like a stalker than a lurker. ooo...

Steven: If Phil wins, I'll send the shawl to you.

I think it would be perfect for you Jimmy, I see you wearing it, reading a book, drinking your tea (pinky finger up) and eating shortbread cookies.

  14. Dr Spo, yes it actually gets you more attention than the dirty word. Also blogger sent me an email saying that all the bad words were used up to run Anne Marie's blog!

  17. Jimmy, did I miss something? Are you giving lessons in making porn???

  19. Please accept my most sincere apologies for leaving comments you felt were too harsh. It was not my intention to upset you or disturb the peace of your blog. I'm just a bitch at times. At least that's what my husband says.
