Goodbye JP, you little ass!

RIP Myhusband&I, yes another blog bites the dust and even worse it has been deleted, like it never existed. That's the hard thing about the blog community, we come to enjoy people and almost think of them as friends. Unfortunately some people no longer feel up to blogging and quit, which is perfectly understandable, yet we will still miss them. For my fellow bloggers, I would suggest not deleting your blog, at least for a little while, not because of my wishes but because one day you may want to look back. I almost did delete my blog when dad died and I broke up with my boyfriend. I'm so glad now that I didn't, I enjoy going back and reading about things I had completely forgotten about.

Sadly so many past favorite blogs no longer exists. Some of those posts were well written and it is almost like a work of art has been destroyed. However I fully agree that your blog... is your blog so do as you wish.

Thank you JP for letting us into your crazy, comical and loving life. We will miss your antics of eating in bed with Guido and your story telling abilities that drew us in. As a single gay man that was feeling hopeless about romantic relationships, you gave me that much needed hope of some day finding my own. Wishing you nothing but the best going forward in everything you gentlemen do.

My first blog was only meant to last a year. It was about a year in my garden ("The Gaudy Garden"). However, The Smart One downloaded it and I had it bound. Would you like to buy a copy? It can tell you what a pink, fringe petaled, variegated rubisirus is.

I figured that might be coming. Several friends and readers have already told me if i stop blogging please don't remove the blog. And i probably wouldn't anyhow for reason you state. I remember my friend Tabitha had a bl9g called Bourbon and Pearls....great writing and visually stunning. Post would garner over 80 comments on a post...she was so chic and sweet. One day she just up and stopped...and by weeks end....the blog gone. So far i have 13 years invested....it ain't going anywhere when i stop.

But Jp and Guido are in bed alot eating and experimenting..so there is little time left to blog.i mean Guido has alot of hose to handle. I believe.

I feel like you told me a friend died. I will miss JP's blog.

I was surprised when I was playing around with my blog settings on my new blog (www.blogmarkblog.com) that my old blog (Running with Blue Sponge) was still online on Blogger. I put a link to the old blog on the sidebar of my new blog. It is cool to be able to look back on what I was doing years ago... And in my family, dementia is a real possibility, so at least I'll have those memories.

I'm gonna miss JP. I loved his wit and wisdom and his stories of Guido!

OMG what happened?
Some violation of terms? Or was it voluntary?
My first blog was an ongoing love letter for a man who did not love me. It's now been archived but it's still up here, in the ether.
Pity that so many blogs are disappearing. I will keep commenting on the ones I like so they never go away...

XOXO

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that JP and Guido are no longer gracing the blogosphere! It's understandable that no one blogs forever, but I always think it's best to say goodbye before decamping. That way people get a bit of closure and the chance to say "So long! And thanks!"

I was looking for JP blog today and could not find it. Thank you for letting us know. Too bad really it was a fun blog.

some of my favorite blogs were the ones that ended...no good byes or nothing. I told the mistress she better not do that.

That does happen from time to time, people just up and stopping, and then deleting. When that happens, I always think of Brahms. At a certain point towards the end of his life, he just up and burned everything which hadn't been published. So much music went up in smoke.

I completely agree with you, if you have the choice of not deleting a blog or something else valuable, just don't. Keep it. It can be a great place with nostalgia later on.

Maddie, are you forgetting that I know where you live, don't make me come down there... pick up Anne Marie and have us go over there!!! No just joking, at least say goodbye if you ever decide to fold up your fabulous tent.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Richard, yes I felt the same way about many blogs that ended. I decided to give people a chance to blog grieve for a change.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Mark, I will have to check out your other blog, maybe I used to read it at some point in the past.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Bob, yes I agree with everything you just said!

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Sixpence, I think he had talked about ending the blog. I guess he's really busy now. He could have said goodbye though! Hence the "little ass" lol. I was trying to draw him out in case he was online somewhere. :D

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Debra, yes I agree completely, it only seems the polite thing to do, say goodbye to the people who came to visit your blog. As I said above, I wanted to give people a chance for closure.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Laurent, yes it was a fun blog and a good read.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Anitia, no she better not do that! Otherwise I will blog about how she likes to wear crocs and sweat pants to work!

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Dave, yes many blogs are well written and it is sad when they are deleted. Like deleting a poem or novel.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Hot guys, exactly. As I said, there are many little stories that I completely forgot about until I look back and then remember them. Makes me wondering about all the past things before my blog that I have forgotten.

Just a thought, has anyone ever seen JP and Lurkster together in the same room? They both have disappeared, hmmmmm.

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Deedles, umm no, just no Deedles. I remember JP saying a few times he was thinking about ending his blog, plus he wasn't posting much lately.

Deedles said...

Just kidding, sweetie. They are both funny when they write, but the tone is totally different. I miss Lurkster a lot! Maybe I should start drinking again, meds or no meds :)

Sooo-this-is-me said...

Deedles, I know you were joking. I didn't know you drank!!! No drinky poo!

Steve this is for you, it was left by JP on my blog and I am sharing at his request.

Dear Larry
I also saw Steven on Blogger posted a blog about my blog’s “demise”. I really do hope you’ll direct him, and those other people on other blog platforms who left such lovely comments, over here to your blog. I tried to leave a message on his site but couldn’t. I don’t think WordPress and blogger will cross over in that way.
Let me explain.
I started my blog in 2015. I haven’t written about this before but at the time I started blogging, my husband Guido had been diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia. I wrote as a weird form of creative escape. Not from my husband, but the circumstances we found ourselves in. It made me SO angry! But it also gave me a lot of energy. I read a lot. I wrote a lot. And, I discovered all these amazing people writing such terrific blogs. Yours, the lovely Will, and many more over the years.
On my blog I opened the door to our lives so that everyone could read about love, chaos, gay life, recipes, and our own type of madness. I wanted others to come to a blog where nothing horrible happened. It would be fun, a laugh – an escape, just as it had been for me writing it.
5 years on? Guido is stable. Not cured, but stable. My interior design business has taken off. We have 2 restaurants. Busy awkward and difficult lives. And rather than blog numbers going up – they went down. But… As a result of my blog I’ve started writing for a magazine. We move on. As we all do. Who knows what will happen in the future.
A few days ago I tried to archive my blog but accidentally hit the delete button! Thankfully I still have my writing as a personal record but it’s gone from on line. I’m sorry about that. But, perhaps it was meant to be? In a clogged up blogshere it makes a space for others to write about their lives.
Steven said that reading my blog gave him hope that he too might one day meet a wonderful man and fall in love. Goodness. What a wonderful epitaph Itsmyhusbandandme.wordpress.com will be when that happens. Not if but when!
I give a special shout out to Anne Marie. My online sister. I love your passion.
Larry – good luck and love to you and Will. Keep blogging.
JP x

Thank you Laurent for sharing this with us.
Also thank you JP for letting us know what happened, I understand the ugliness of the word leukemia so my empathy to you gentlemen.

I have to also say that I couldn't help but snicker a little at the thought of you accidentally "oops" deleting your blog. It's the type of thing that made us love your antics in the first place.
If you happen to read my next post JP, you will discover that things have changed for me in a good way.
Take care, oh and the "little ass" comment was just me trying to draw you out... hahaha!
